I have been practicing speedrunning a lot recently, and the rapier is always the weapon of choice. This makes sense for a lot of reasons; It has one of the fastest attack speeds in the game. Its damage per stamina consumption is amazing. 2h r1 spam does an incredible amount of poise damage, enough to stagger nearly any non boss in the game. STR is usually better option in beginning. DEX doesn't need to be as high as STR, 40/30 will do (later). VIG /END should be 30/20 not other way around. Also, think about raising VIT to 20 at least, slowly.
