The tan wire coming out of the tank goes to the gas gauge in dash. The black wire coming from the tank goes to the ground.

That is where the often fall off. If the hard line cracks it can be hard to find. Then inside the cab there are a bunch at the back of the mode switch.All but the 04 use the clips that you release by pressing the two tabs in and pulling the hose off. 04 IIRC, has a similar style to the emissions lines by the tail light in that you push on the bridge of the horseshoe clip to release it.
