Wiggling the shifter has made it go away each time. Searching the forum, though, I see mostly 2016 and 2017 models experiencing this issue. Here's how - Volt owner has the Sift to Park issue and parks the car in the garage. As the drive train battery discharges the Volt engine will periodically start filling the garage and house with car exhaust/ carbon monoxide gas poisoning the family. YES THIS HAS HAPPENED.
