Depending on where you are, there are some smaller 'providers', but my understanding is they use Comcast's infra anyway. As someone who had Comcast for over a year and switched to Fios, I can highly recommend Fios. Comcast was okay, but I had occasional downtime which for some reason really ramped up the last couple months I had it.
