The only maintenance required on the shaft is the rear spline lubrication with moly60 lube, easy to do and not often. It's one fast bike.The bike is a 2001 VN800 Classic and the previous owner said the bike was idling and then while he was strapping his helmet on the bike died. He took it to the place where he bought it and they pulled the plugs, said they put a camera inside and they claim the motor sucked a valve.
