For those who text via VZW website be aware that the text via website service is apparently going away on 12/11/2023. Since I cannot figure out how to attach a screenshot here I am copying in the text of the message that popped up on VZW website. The ability to send and receive text messages in Verizon's website will be discontinued on 12/11/23. You can use integrated messaging to sync from your current active phone to your computer, tablet, and/or smart watch. You can't sync the messages to an old inactivated phone.
