Orest, I sent in an application to M1 Collectors Club as per your customer service people to satisfy my club affiliation and be able to purchase an M1 from CMP. The M1 Collectors club has not responded nor have they cashed my check. Do you know what is going on with them?From my perspective, these are the books that I recommend, in the order that I recommend them: 1. Complete Guide to the M1 Garand and M1 Carbine, by Bruce N. Canfield, 1998 - This book frames up the M1 Carbine in a very organized, and quickly understandable fashion, and I still reference it frequently since I purchased it in 1999.The bolt has the wear I would expect from a good amount of use, but the rest of the receiver, barrel, slide and trigger group have very little wear. In fact, the trigger group looks almost brand new. I read somewhere that some of these M1's were sandblasted during the rebuild process. If that's true, it's a shame.
