I have the K51, when I changed my input shaft because of the worn splines I dumped out all the old oil and then filled the unit up with Mobil 5W-50 to about an inch below the opening, reinstalled the filter (cleaned with solvent), put in big spring and put the cap on. The spacing of the outer two precast mount holes on the K71 are slightly narrower than the K46. That requires you to elongate the holes on the frame mount about a an 1/8 on either side. Hydros wear out slowly. So you start to notice them going slower up hill and usually they will work fine in reverse . In fact that is the quick & dirty test, same both forward & reverse = belts.
